I made it out of the war zone in 2009 and my journey of healing began. In 2017, I was diagnosed with leukemia—an illness, likely stemming from environmental exposures while deployed to Iraq. Cancer nearly took my life but not in the way you’d expect. Having unresolved lifetime trauma, the cancer diagnosis became the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back…

From Horseback to the Himalayas:
a war veteran’s journey within, finding love, healing cancer
An inspirational story of hope, I share of lifelong trauma and life at war. Following a cancer diagnosis and becoming shackled within a life I desired to end, horses became my guide and guru, ultimately leading me to the Indian Himalayas. Through this journey, I found joy, empathy compassion and love. I found healing.

Mahima Moksha
Poems of Grace & Freedom
The Sanskrit words, Mahima and Moksha translate to Grace and Freedom, respectively. A poetic journal of sorts, this compilation of otherworldly poems coupled with beautiful photography, captures my experience of freedom in grace. My hope and prayer is that it opens your awareness to the ever present Grace and freedom already existing in your own life.
